Porsche’s popular crossover SUV delivers world-class handling, sporty utility, and luxurious passenger comfort. The 2019 Porsche Cayenne ushers in a new generation, expanding on the brand’s performance and tech features. Before you head to Porsche of North Olmsted to test-drive yours, check out our comparison guide to learn how the 2018 and 2019 Cayenne models stack up.

Performance

In the 2018 Porsche Cayenne, you’ll find a range of powertrains options, including a fuel-efficient hybrid and a range-topping turbocharged V8 engine. With the latter, you can turn up the heat with a max output of 570 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque.

The next-generation 2019 Cayenne is even more impressive. Its top-of-the-line engine is a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 that makes 550 horses and 567 pound-feet of torque. Although it doesn’t seem faster on paper, Porsche says this new engine will go from zero to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds, outperforming the outgoing 2018 turbo V8. In addition to enhanced speed, the 2019 Cayenne offers new electronically adjustable anti-roll bars for maximum safety. Similarly, the newly optional Porsche surface-coated brakes deliver increased stopping power and will last up to 30 percent longer than the standard brakes.

Appearance

Both the 2018 and 2019 Porsche Cayenne models are instantly recognizable, thanks in part to their stylish paint jobs and head-turning wheel options. These two models feature the same wheelbase, so you can expect the same roomy cabin in both crossovers. However, the new generation has a new look, with a stunningly sleek roofline and an increasingly streamlined appearance. Of course, both Cayennes are undeniably stylish. No matter which model suits you best, you’ve got great taste.

Features

Both the 2018 and 2019 Cayenne crossovers deliver world-class comfort and convenience. You can choose from a range of trim models for the experience you prefer – and the one that best suits your bank account. The 2018 Cayenne is available as the Cayenne, S, S E-Hybrid, GTS, and Turbo models. Each offers its own powertrain as well as its own features list. Among these features is the Porsche Car Connect with E-Mobility system, which lets you use a smartphone app to perform multiple remote functions, such as remote start or locking. Optional front sport seats keep you extra snug during spirited rides. You can also select full leather upholstery for an increasingly luxurious ride. The E-Hybrid Platinum Edition offers an auxiliary climate system that lets you preheat or pre cool the cabin, so that, when it’s time to go, the cabin is already the perfect temperature.

The 2019 Porsche Cayenne adds to the 2018 model’s long list of features with some new developments. The matrix LED headlights offer excellent visibility during nighttime rides. Its electrically adjustable grille shutters can open and close to minimize drag or enhance engine cooling as needed. Interestingly, even the new spoiler is active, staying retracted in Eco mode for optimal fuel economy and raising 0.8 inches in Performance mode for increased on-road precision. In Sport Plus mode, the spoiler raises an additional 0.8 inch for optimal athleticism.

Both the 2018 and 2019 Cayenne Porsche attract a wide range of buyers, thanks to their high-end performance and luxury comfort features. Which model is right for you?
